The Larry Joe Harless Community Center located in Gilbert, WV opened its doors to serve the
public in April 1999. The Center was built with contributions from James H. (Buck) Harless and his
wife, June, in honor of their son Larry Joe Harless who died in his early 40's. Larry Joe always
wanted to build something for the children of this community so that they would have somewhere to
go and something to do. When Larry Joe passed away his parents carried out his wish by building a
recreation center that is second to none.

| The Essential Mission of The Larry Joe Harless Community Center, in cooperation with other agencies, is to promote the families and individuals by providing wholesome programs and activities, qualified leadership and appropriate facilities within a Christian and moral environment. |
